On Tuesday, the deejay sparked intense discussions online after sharing a fiery post that appeared to take aim at his Dancehall rivals.
"27 SHOWS IN 43 WEEKS #STADIUMS #ARENAS #DOMES YOUR FAVOURITE ARTISTE'S DELUSION SHOULD BE STUDIED #KING #1," Kartel wrote, sending fans and fellow entertainers into debates online
Social media quickly speculated that Kartel's comments were directed at either Masicka or Beenie Man, or even both. Masicka and Beenie man has been asserting their dominance in the genre, despite the majority putting Kartel at the top.
Masicka, who has been on a hot streak with chart-topping hits, recently flaunted a massive GOAT-themed chain symbolising his self-proclaimed title. Meanwhile, Beenie Man, long known as the "King of Dancehall", continues to dismiss challengers.
"Nobody can tek off this crown; unuh affi chop off mi head," he declared in a recent interview, reminding fans that he was crowned by MTV, BET, and Reggae Sumfest.
Interestingly, Reggae Sumfest also recognised Vybz Kartel as "King of Dancehall" during its 2025 staging, adding fuel to the ongoing rivalry.
Following Kartel's post, Masicka subtly fired back through his Instagram Stories, promoting his latest single in which he boasts, "Dem call mi the GOAT… nuh bwoy nuh bad like Sicka!"
