J. Cole's highly-anticipated album The Fall Off is on the way, and according to Trae Tha Truth, it will "shock a lot of people."
During an appearance on The Breakfast Club on September 2, Trae revealed that he'd heard the project and hinted that naysayers will be surprised – particularly those who thought they knew the whole situation when it came down to the Kendrick Lamar beef and subsequent apology.
"Don't get it fucked up — his album coming," Trae said. "And when the album coming, it's probably gonna shock a lot of people. Remember what I tell you all the time: a lot of people form opinions on a lot of things and they don't fully know the situation. He'll be aight. Before it's too late, you never know what bro what may do."

Trae Tha Truth, who's close with J. Cole and even had the North Carolina superstar pull up on Trae Tha Truth Day over the summer, has frequently disagreed with the narrative that Cole was "ducking" the beef with Kendrick.
Talking to AllHipHop at the 2024 BET Awards in June, Trae spoke about Cole's choice to bow out of the 'Big 3' beef with K.Dot after initially dropping (then retracting) a diss – and Trae felt it was a necessary move.
"One thing, man, I know he probably wouldn't want me to say, but I'm going to clarify: I watch blogs and I watch headlines make it as if he [Cole] was just trying to get away or duck any type of situation," Trae said. "And that wasn't the case. What people have to realize is that's just not the type of energy bro got. You know what I'm saying? He focused on him, he focused on his kids and just always stayed in his lane."
He continued: "So everybody wanted to see him rumble and not knowing a lot of us came up together. We partners. So for me, being a real brother to him, you got to respect if somebody like, 'Man, you know what, bro? I know I'm dope. I'm not questioning myself. I just feel like that's just not the energy that I'm on.'"
T.I. had a similar sentiment about J. Cole's decision to apologize to Kendrick Lamar after dissing him on "7 Minute Drill," as did Black Thought – who praised Cole for apologizing.
As for The Fall Off, Cole announced he was in the final stages of completing it back in February – though he didn't offer a hint as to when it might arrive.
Drake then fueled excitement further, revealing he's heard the album and it's a "classic."
In April, Daylyt claimed he'd also heard the project, calling it "the most amazingest" rapping he's heard.
"Cole is going out with a nuclear missile, I'm telling y'all that," he said. "It's his last go-around and he literally was like, 'I don't give a fuck about radio; I just wanna show the world my pen before I die.' I heard it, all of it. It is the most amazingest rapping I have seen and heard thus far."
Heaping more praise on the album, Daylyt claimed that The Fall Off is the exact direction Hip Hop needs to go in right now, because the genre is full of "trolls."
